In the years that I have been travelling it is almost guaranteed that if there is a place you would expect me not to like I’ll do the opposite and fall in love with it.  Take my first trip overseas, India. Never in a million years would I have expected to even go there, let alone love it. The same thing happened with Singapore. Here we are, another year has passed and as usual I’m late to the party with my goals.  It’s not that I haven’t had any, in fact I’ve had 2017 goals since like October.  That’s how eager I was for 2016 to wrap up.  It’s not that anything bad happened in 2016, in fact it was the opposite.  I’m just a sucker for a good ‘new year, new me’ situation.

5 Touristy Must Do’s in San Francisco

I am living proof that hanging on to first impressions isn’t always the best idea.  When I first travelled to San Francisco in 2012 as part of a Contiki tour it didn’t do much for me.  I have strong memories of drinking too much, seeing lots of homeless people, and staying in a  supposedly haunted hotel.  For a tour company with a slogan of NO Regrets, I certainly had a lot.  I felt like I had completely missed the point of San Francisco.
